The Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt Certifications are an essential symbol of accomplishment for any continuous improvement professional.  It exemplifies expertise in the quality field and provides a full range of professional knowledge. 

Requirements to become certified as a Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt include:

  • 2 weeks class attendance and participation
  • demonstrated use of tools
  • project completion
  • project success as measured by attainment of goals. 

Requirements to become certified as a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt include:

  • 4 weeks class attendance and participation
  • Attain Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • demonstrated use of tools
  • second project completion
  • project success as measured by attainment of goals. 

Projects must achieve significant business impact to be considered "successful." Projects should achieve savings of $50,000.00.

The certification decision will be made jointly by your company and the Missouri State Management Development Institute. Certification is granted by Missouri State University's College of Business Administration and The Management Development Institute (MDI).
