Jeremy Clopton, CPA, CFE, ACDA, CIDA is a senior managing consultant at BKD CPAs & Advisors in the Forensics and Valuation Services division. Mr. Clopton specializes in the use of data analytics for fraud detection, risk management and business decision making. His project experience includes the design and implementation of analytics programs for Fortune 500 companies, development of analytics for anti-bribery and corruption regulations compliance, and U.S. federal government investigations including the Department of Justice. Mr. Clopton has also practiced his craft in many other industries including higher education, health care, transportation and manufacturing. He holds the distinction of being one of a small number of professionals in the world to be certified in both ACL and IDEA data analytics software.
Mr. Clopton is a frequent speaker about data analytics, continuous auditing, data visualization and the value of data to an organization. He speaks at local, national and global conferences, and also presents webinars about the topics. In addition to his forensic accounting work, Mr. Clopton studies and speaks on various leadership and management concepts. He is especially interested in how companies operate internally and how the “Millennial” generation is changing the workplace and recently launched his website dedicated to the topic.
Mr. Clopton is a contributor to the ACFE’s Fraud Magazine and to a variety of blogs on the topic of data analytics. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
In his community work, Jeremy Clopton supports the local Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a member of Team in Training and has served as its Springfield area running coach. He graduated from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Mr. Clopton lives in Nixa, Missouri with his wife and two children.
