About Legacy Bank
Legacy Bank and Trust’s story dates back to Plato, Missouri in 1907. It was then and there that the bank’s first branch opened.
From day one, the bank has been committed to innovative, customer-focused banking. In the 1940s that commitment meant keeping the bank open late on paydays to serve workers building the Fort Leonard Wood Army installation. The lines of workers cashing checks often extended far into the street.
From that first day in 1907 to now, Legacy Bank and Trust’s vision has been to surpass standards in banking and help their communities thrive.
A heart for community
Legacy Bank and Trust is proud to be a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) certified by the Department of the Treasury.
As a CDFI, the bank is committed to fostering local economic growth. The bank focuses on serving communities through financing businesses, creating jobs, and rebuilding neighborhoods.
