We encourage early registration as our classes fill up quickly. You will receive a confirmation letter including parking permit (if necessary) and an invoice (if payment was not made at time of registration.) Your confirmation letter will provide you with more details including your course location, date and time. If you have not received a written confirmation prior to the course, please contact us before traveling to the course.

Discount policy

A 10% discount is available to three or more registrants from the same organization registering for the same program; however, all registrants must register at the same time.

A 15% discount is available for not-for profit employees. Must be mentioned at time of registration.

Class location

Most courses are held in MDI's training facilities located in MSU's Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center, 405 N. Jefferson Avenue  in downtown Springfield, Missouri. Locations outside of the university will be specified in the course descriptions and in your confirmation letter.

Parking permit information

Parking permits are required on the MSU campus. Parking permits will be included with your confirmation letter upon registration. Register early to ensure receipt of your parking permit before your class or you will be given a permit upon class arrival. Parking permits offered by MDI are valid only in the specified lots.

Registration and payment of fees

Registration fees vary depending on the workshop. Your registration fee includes all material and refreshment breaks.

Payment must be received prior to course attendance unless otherwise arranged. Participants are responsible for the payment of all fees associated with each course attended at MDI.

A $25 service fee will be assessed for any check that is returned from the bank for any reason. Post-dated or two party checks will not be accepted. Any returned check shall be made good within ten days after notification or the participant will not be permitted to attend further courses.

Class cancellation and refund policy

The Management Development Institute reserves the right to cancel any class or make any other changes it deems necessary in order to provide students with the best educational experience possible.

Course fees will be refunded in full if it becomes necessary to cancel a course, however, under no circumstances will the amount refunded exceed the amount of the registration fee. MDI will not reimburse students for the cost of travel or lodging in the unlikely event that a class is cancelled. Therefore, it is recommended that students traveling to attend classes make travel reservations that are able to be changed, should it become necessary to do so.

MDI will make all reasonable attempts to notify students of class cancellations or changes, using email, phone and fax contact information provided by the student at the time of registration.

We recognize you may occasionally need to cancel a registration. If you wish to receive a refund, we must receive a written statement (e-mail: mdi@missouristate.edu, fax: 417-837-2614, or postal mail: MDI/MSU, 405 N. Jefferson Avenue, Springfield, MO 65806) listing the course name, registrant name and giving the reason for cancellation.

Refunds of registration fees paid by credit card will be processed as a credit or the credit card account within seven business days of the cancellation notification. Refunds of registration fees paid by check will require a minimum of six weeks to be processed, to allow sufficient time for the check issued by the participant to clear and processing time.

Unless a separate policy is stated for a specific class or classes, the following applies to all cancellations and refunds:

Cancellation (email, fax or mail) received a minimum of two weeks (14 days) prior to the program start date will receive a full refund. Cancellations less than two weeks prior to program start will be subject to a 20% administration fee. Non-attendance will incur the full program fee. Organizations may substitute candidates if notice is provided prior to the program start date.

Lean six sigma cancellation policy

Cancellation fees for this course are very stringent, the instructor must make travel arrangements well in advance and if we make a class based on registrations and then the registration number drops at the last minute, it is very difficult to run a successful course, and make it worthwhile to all in attendance and to those running the course. So the following cancellation policy will be in effect, even if payment has not yet been received for the course. You will be invoiced.

Cancellation of the program after registration will result in the following:

  • 30+ days prior to the course start date 25% cancellation fee
  • 20 – 29 days prior to the course start date 50% cancellation fee
  • 19 days or less will receive no refund.

Certificates of attendance

Unless otherwise stated, participants will receive a certificate of attendance at the conclusion of each course. This certificate will state the number of contact hours attended at the course.

Continuing education units

Some of the courses offered by MDI qualify for CEU’s. CEU’s are a way of measuring and officially recognizing the time and effort you have put into your education for your job or profession. One CEU is equal to 10 hours of instruction. CEU’s do not constitute academic credit.
